2. Revising hints - check your Genre #2 for the following:
- Show, don't tell. Use concrete and specific language. The 747, not the airplane.
- find one detail and make it more specific and interesting
- Use vivid verbs. He staggered, not he walked.
- find one regular verb and make it vivid
- Avoid overused words that carry little meaning such as good, something, a lot, very, and stuff . Replace the overused words with more precise words: not "a lot of books," but "14 books"; not "a little bit of resistance," but "minimal resistance."
- find one instance of overused words and replace with precise words
